About POSHSHALA
We work towards nurturing mindsets and initiating a societal change when it comes to addressing taboo topics like sexual harassment at workplace and child sexual abuse. We envision a society which is safe, fearless, zero tolerant and where respect for individuals tops the priority list.
We focus to invest in human capital and empower people from different backgrounds to sphere head the concept of ‘Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)’ to help people VOICE their concerns.
As a problem statement, we have identified that despite having a proper judicial system and having in place Acts like Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 etc. implementation and sensitivity towards understanding this critical issue is still the biggest challenge. We observed that the intent of both organized and unorganized sectors to implement a POSH program is only limited to having their compliance check boxes up to the mark. The seriousness of having a robust program with an intention to create safe workplace environment for all genders and building a strong as well as sustainable corporate governance structure is absolutely missing.
Therefore, through POSHSHALA, we aim to build a community which is empowered to work for a cause and equip organizations to implement robust systems to safeguard their workplaces against sexual harassment.
